2 days before Binyamina drone strike, Hezbollah warned Israeli civilians near military targets
Two days before carrying out a deadly drone strike near Binyamina, Hezbollah issued a statement warning Israeli civilians to avoid military targets and civilian areas where, according to Hezbollah, the IDF was operating.
“The Israeli enemy army uses the homes of settlers in some settlements in northern occupied Palestine as gathering centers for its officers and soldiers,” the statement read. “Its military bases that manage the aggression against Lebanon are also located inside settlement neighborhoods in major occupied cities such as Haifa, Tiberias, Acre, and others.”
The statement further indicated that the terrorist organization would target civilian sites used by the Israel Defense Forces, warning Israeli civilians to stay away from those locations.
“These homes and military bases are targets for the missile and air force of the Islamic Resistance. Accordingly, we warn the settlers against being present near these military gatherings in order to protect their lives until further notice.”
On Sunday, a drone strike from Hezbollah targeted the IDF's Golani Brigade training base near Binyamina, killing four soldiers and injuring 58 others.
Binyamina, a town located in the southern Haifa district, was among the locations Hezbollah mentioned it would be targeting.
The Jerusalem Post published a report where it surmised that “in retrospect, this message may have telegraphed the major Hezbollah attack on Sunday evening.”
Taking credit for the attack, Hezbollah stated it “will defend the land of Lebanon.”
“This is only part of what will await the enemy if he continues to attack our people,” the terror group warned.
