Christian leaders unite in support of Israel with letter to presidential candidates

Americans will go to the polls in less than three weeks to elect the next president of the United States. This election comes at a critical juncture in both American and Israeli history. Violent pro-Hamas protests have rocked college campuses and major cities, while White House policy on Israel has vacillated throughout the past year.

Just this week, the administration threatened an arms embargo against Israel claiming that Israel was not ensuring humanitarian aid reached Gazans even as Hamas seizes international aid for their own purposes. Whatever the election's outcome, these leaders are firm in their stance that the nation's next president must commit to nurturing a stronger relationship with Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East.

For this reason, American Christian Leaders for Israel (ACLI) is sending a letter to presidential candidates Donald J. Trump and Kamala Harris regarding their future policies on the US-Israel relationship. The letters outline six guiding principles essential for safeguarding the mutual interests of both nations. These principles include:

  1. Combating Iran’s Nuclear Ambitions and Terrorism: Ensuring robust measures to counter Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons and its support for global terrorism.

  2. Defeating Hamas and Securing Gaza: Supporting Israel’s right to self-defense and the liberation of Gaza from Hamas control.

  3. Stopping Hezbollah’s Aggression: Addressing the threats posed by Hezbollah and securing Lebanon from its influence.

  4. Ending International Lawfare Against Israel: Opposing biased international efforts that undermine Israel’s security and sovereignty.

  5. Combating Antisemitism: Addressing rising antisemitism, defunding UNRWA, and supporting measures to combat the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign.

  6. Protecting Jewish Students: Ensuring a safe and secure environment for Jewish students on college campuses.

ACLI invites all Christian leaders to sign the letter adding their name to more than one hundred and fifty top organizational and church leaders  such as former member of congress the Hon. Michele Bachman, Tony Perkins of Family Research Council, Gary Bauer of American Values, Troy Miller of the National Religious Broadcasters, Star Parker of Urban CURE, and Rev. Samual Rodriguez of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. These guiding principles not only provide critical assistance to our close ally Israel but will result in great benefit to the United States of America.

American Christian Leaders for Israel (ACLI) provides a unified voice of truth in support of Israel and the Jewish people to the American government and public. The 3,000 participating organizations and churches represent the growing mainstream movement of Christians in the United States who share a love and concern for Israel and who value Israel’s close and unique relationship with America and with our citizens. The ACLI network is managed by the United States branch of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem
