Anti-government protests continue for 39th week with smaller turnout during Sukkot
Anti-government protesters gathered around the nation for the 39th week of protests against the coalition government.
As in previous weeks, the main protest rally took place in Tel Aviv, where protesters gathered at Dizengoff Square before marching to the Kaplan intersection.
Following the main rally, groups of protesters descended the Ayalon Highway and erected a sukkah (tabernacle or booth) on the highway, calling it “Sukkat Tikvah” (Booth of Hope).
Hebrew media estimated the number of protesters in Tel Aviv at around 85,000, compared to previous weeks when over 100,000 participated.
In Haifa, the protests also included a focus against violence in the Arab sector.
