IDF arrests 280 Hamas members in Judea and Samaria since start of Operation Iron Swords
The Israel Defense Forces announced today that 280 wanted suspects have been arrested in operations in Judea and Samaria since the start of Operation Iron Swords, including 157 Hamas members.
The IDF, Border Police, and Shin Bet security forces have been continuing operations throughout the Palestinian territories after Hamas issued a call for an uprising earlier in the week.
There have been several clashes between security forces and Palestinians in Judea and Samaria, internationally known as the West Bank, including in east Jerusalem over the last week.
Just last night, the IDF and Shin Bet security agency detained 56 wanted Palestinians in the West Bank, including 25 Hamas terrorists, among them two senior Hamas operatives from Nablus: Adnan Asfur (59) and Ahmad Awad (49).
In the village of 'Azzun, Israeli forces destroyed a laboratory that was being used to produce improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
At least 40 people have been killed in clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians in Judea and Samaria in the last week.
