IDF conducts large operations in Nablus and Tulkarm
For the fourth time in a week, the IDF and security forces conducted large operations in the Nur a-Shams refugee camp next to Tulkarm in Judea and Samaria, internationally known as the West Bank.
Five wanted suspects were arrested in the operation, during which Israeli security forces also destroyed several IEDs planted under and to the sides of the roads entering the camp.
Tulkarm, which was part of the “Triangle of Fear” during the Second Intifada, along with Jenin and Nablus, has seen an increase in terror activity since the start of the war against Hamas in Gaza.
During the operation, an explosive device was thrown at the soldiers, who responded with live fire. Palestinian reports said the IDF used a drone to attack an armed group that had fired on the soldiers.
In previous weeks, Israeli security forces found dozens of weapons, explosives laboratories, communication devices and operational headquarters in the area.
