Iranian attack against Israelis in Cyprus thwarted
Police in Cyprus arrested two Iranian citizens affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on suspicion of planning an attack against Israeli and Jewish targets in the country, Cypriot newspaper Kathimerini reported on Sunday.
According to the report, the two civilians, who arrived on the island as asylum seekers from Iran, collected information about Israeli targets and civilians.
Iranian agents have previously been arrested in Cyprus while planning to attack Israeli citizens in the country.
In June, an Iranian operative planning to attack Israeli citizens was arrested by Cypriot authorities after information obtained by Israel's Mossad on Iranian soil was shared with them.
