While Israel has not officially claimed responsibility for the explosions targeting Hezbollah's communication devices in Lebanon and Syria on Tuesday and Wednesday, there is a broad consensus among media outlets, analysts, and the public that the operation was planned and executed by Israel’s Mossad.

Multiple military analysts in the West praised the operation for its precision and targeted approach, with minimal civilian injuries or deaths. However, some politicians and public figures expressed dissatisfaction with the strike on the Hezbollah terror organization.

Democratic U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) condemned the attack, which she attributed to Israel, stating that it “clearly and unequivocally violates international humanitarian law and undermines US efforts to prevent a wider conflict.”

In a post on 𝕏, she demanded an investigation to determine “whether any US assistance went into the development or deployment of this technology.”

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a bipartisan pro-Israel lobbying group, posted a reply, noting that the Democratic congresswoman had never protested a single Hezbollah attack on her 𝕏 account.

Other pro-Israel social media accounts were quick to point out that most of the remaining Democratic representatives belonging to a group known as “The Squad” had also been silent about Hezbollah attacks that have killed or injured Israeli civilians.

Democratic Congressman Brad Sherman called out AOC for misrepresenting the situation. In a post on 𝕏, he noted that only Hezbollah-owned pagers were targeted in the strike and that military targets are legitimate targets in a war. He also noted that Hezbollah regularly targets Israeli civilians.

The Open Source Intel 𝕏 account, which frequently posts updates on global conflicts, noted that a mosque in the state of Michigan was holding a memorial service for one of the Hezbollah "martyrs" who died in the attack.

Joe Truzman, a senior research analyst for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), noted that the Islamic Center of America (ICofA) in Dearborn, Michigan, is holding a “medical fundraiser for Lebanon on Friday.”

According to Hezbollah's own announcements, very few Lebanese civilians were injured in the pager and radio explosions, suggesting that the ICofA is holding a fundraiser to treat wounded Hezbollah members, despite Hezbollah being officially designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.
