Houthi terrorists post video depicting raid on mock Israeli military base

The Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia from Yemen posted a propaganda video on Sunday depicting a drill attack on a mock Israeli military “Command and Control Center.”

The fictitious attack, dubbed, “Yemen is the Pillar Support of Palestine”, also included taking IDF soldiers as hostages, likely a reference to the Hamas terror attack on Oct. 7 attack when terrorists temporarily overtook several IDF border posts and kidnapped a number of IDF soldiers.

The Houthi propaganda video was filmed in a barren mountainous area, likely somewhere in Yemen, and included several drones that dropped explosives on small shacks displaying both American and Israeli flags.

Last month, the Houthis posted a different propaganda video depicting a fictitious attack on a civilian 'Israeli' community, where Houthi operatives kidnapped several hostages, including some who were dressed as ultra-Orthodox Jews.

Ever since the Hamas brutal Oct. 7 attack on Israel's southern border communities, the Iranian-backed Houthi terror group has dramatically increased its attacks on international commercial vessels in the Red Sea in a display of solidarity with citizens of the Gaza Strip.

The Houthis are part of Iran's Islamic Regime’s “axis of resistance,” which includes anti-Israel and anti-Western terror proxies such as Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in Gaza, as well as various Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria.

While the Houthis embrace their antisemitic ideology of the Iranian regime, the geographic distance between Yemen and Israel is approximately 1,400 miles. Due to the considerable distance, the Houthis’ main offensive capabilities against Israel are limited to long-range missiles and drones supplied by the Iranian regime.

In late December, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) shot down a drone launched by the Houthis from Yemen towards the southern Israeli port city of Eilat on the Red Sea.

IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Daniel Hagari condemned the Houthi attacks on the Jewish state as “acts of terror” and stressed that it was coordinated and ordered by the regime in Tehran.

“This is an act that is carried out under Iranian directives,” Hagari stated at the time.

The Houthi attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea have dramatically reduced the number of vessels passing through the strategically important waterway between producers in Asia and the large European consumer market.

In December, the United States established an international alliance, Operation Prosperity Guardian, designed to confront the growing Houthi threat to international commercial trade. In addition to the U.S., the alliance mainly consists of Western nations, such as Great Britain, Canada and Italy but also the tiny Gulf Arab kingdom of Bahrain, which hosts U.S. military naval assets in the strategically important Persian Gulf adjacent to Iran.

In January, the U.S. and British militaries conducted several strikes against Houthi targets across Yemen in response to the attacks on international commercial vessels and stressed that the operations were an act of self-defense against unprovoked Houthi aggression.

“Our aim remains to de-escalate tensions and restore stability in the Red Sea, but let us reiterate our warning to Houthi leadership: we will not hesitate to defend lives and the free flow of commerce in one of the world’s most critical waterways in the face of continued threats,” read the joint statement.
