Hundreds of elite military reservists refuse to show up for duty over judicial reforms
Hundreds of officers and soldiers from elite reserve units in Israel's Military Intelligence Special Operations Division and in cyber warfare units stopped showing up for duty on Sunday.
The reservists previously announced their intention to stop showing up for duty due to legislation being advanced which would severely limit the ability to remove a prime minister deemed unfit for office.
On Thursday, as the first reading of the legislation restricting the court’s ability to recuse a prime minister was passed, the reservists announced that they would stop reporting for service on Sunday.
The reservists reportedly said they would resume their service as soon as the legislation is dropped.
