IDF kills 4 Hezbollah terrorists trying to infiltrate northern Israel from Lebanon
Hezbollah launched several attacks against Israel throughout the day
IDF soldiers killed four terrorists who had infiltrated from Lebanon into the territory of Israel near Mount Dov early Sunday morning.
The soldiers were on patrol when they detected movement and went to investigate. They encountered a group of terrorists, who opened fire on them.
The soldiers returned fire, and called in mortar fire to prevent the terrorists from fleeing back to Lebanon. Four terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire.
During the incident, five IDF soldiers were injured, two soldiers moderately and three others lightly, including one suffering from hypothermia. The injured soldiers were taken to the Rambam Hospital in Haifa for medical treatment.
The IDF said the terrorists infiltrated during inclement weather and reportedly exploited the movement of wild animals in the area in an attempt to evade detection.
The terrorists were carrying a large quantity of weapons, including Kalashnikovs, magazines, grenades and launchers, in preparation for a large attack.
Mount Dov has been the site of several shooting attacks and infiltration attempts by Hezbollah since the war began in October. There is no border fence in the area, known as Shebaa Farms, as it is disputed territory.
Shortly after the infiltration attempt, the IDF struck several Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon.

Later on Sunday morning, Hezbollah forces launched two anti-tank missiles at Moshav Kfar Yuval in the northern Galilee. Two Israeli civilians were evacuated following the attack, Barak Ayalon, 45, and his mother, Mira Ayalon, (70), and were later pronounced dead from their injuries.
Throughout the morning and early afternoon, Hezbollah launched several attacks against Israeli territory. At the time of publication, Hezbollah claimed to have launched 8 separate shooting attacks against Israel.
The IDF announced road closures in several northern communities. Israeli Air Force fighter jets also struck several Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon in retaliation for the attacks.
