‘If we do what we need to do, Trump will win and GOP will take the Senate’ – Former US Amb Ken Blackwell reveals his optimistic prediction to Joel Rosenberg
Blackwell analyzed the high stakes for Christians and pro-Israel voters in the upcoming presidential and congressional races on THE ROSENBERG REPORT
“The momentum seems to be shifting from Kamala Harris, the vice president, who was ahead by several points just a month ago… but we are in the final hours. Every vote counts, and Evangelical turnout is going to be critical,” said All ISRAEL NEWS Editor-in-Chief Joel Rosenberg in the latest episode of his weekly program, THE ROSENBERG REPORT on TBN.
Rosenberg analyzed the high stakes in the 2024 elections for Christian and pro-Israel voters with Ken Blackwell, former U.S. Ambassador and Ohio Treasurer and Secretary of State.
“We just can't get comfortable because things are moving and in Trump's direction,” Blackwell told Rosenberg.
“The other thing that is important here, Joel, is that for Trump to implement his agenda quickly and effectively, he has to run a ‘trifecta.’ Meaning, he has to win the presidency, the Republicans have to regain the majority in the Senate, and they have to keep the majority in the House. As we close this out, I think it looks like the Republicans will regain the control in the Senate,” he predicted.
“Why are you bullish on Republicans taking over the Senate?” Rosenberg asked.
Blackwell responded: “Well, the Democrats have to defend more seats, but I'm feeling really good about pickups not only in Montana but also in Ohio. The folks who I work with on this believe that the Republicans will have anywhere from 52 to 54 seats in the Senate.”
“We're gaining ground, and we have competitive races in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania. Arizona is one that we're a bit concerned about, but overall, there's going to be, I think, a substantial pickup in the Senate and they'll get control of that chamber,” he added.
Zooming in on the close Senate race in Texas, where Sen. Ted Cruz currently has a 3-point lead in the polls, Blackwell said: “Ted is a strong closer. He runs through the take… I think he's going to be fine. One of the things that folks in Texas like about Ted, is that he is consistent.”
When it comes to the GOP’s chances of retaining control in the House of Representatives, Blackwell expressed a more cautious tone.
“I think it's important to remember we have a majority because in 2022, we ran strong. We picked up seats in two blue states, California and New York,” he told Rosenberg.
“Where we have to defend, happens to be in a couple of states where Democrats are strong. But again, I think we're going to finish strong where we can win, and keep our majority.”
Revealing his optimistic prediction, Blackwell said, “If we do what we need to do, if we run through the tape, Trump will get somewhere between 302 and 306 Electoral College vote.”
“My prediction is that his aggregate take of the black community will, in fact, be somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-14 precent. And that increase would be driven by young black men between the ages of 25 and 50,” Blackwell explained. “I think that shift on the margin will help him win Wisconsin, as well as be competitive and possibly pick up Pennsylvania.”
