Is America already waffling on their 'We’ve got your back' statement?
Some of the most impressive speeches have been given in the past week by both U.S. President Joe Biden, as well as Secretary of State Antony Blinken, promising unwavering support for the Jewish state, which has been fighting a bloody savage ground attack executed by Hamas terrorists just a week ago Saturday
Blinken, during his recent trip to Israel, wherein he identified himself not merely as a statesman but as a Jew, related the shocking atrocities, which were happening in real-time, stating: “This is a moment for moral clarity.” But probably the strongest and most poignant statement made during his speech was, “You may be strong enough on your own to defend yourself, but as long as America exists, you will never have to.”
In fact, he further strengthened his claim by making it clear that the U.S. was tangibly backing its support by deploying its largest warship, the USS Gerald R. Ford, into the region to “make sure that Israel has what it needs and that we [America] have the appropriate assets in place.”
No less forceful was the U.S. president who stated, “And let there be no doubt, the United States has Israel’s back.”
Both of these strong shows of support were very heartening, as they validated Israel’s right to eradicate, by whatever means possible, the existential threat facing the Jewish nation, but it didn’t take long before mixed messages started to be sent, requesting that we “postpone a ground offensive until there is the establishment of a human corridor.”
So, what started out as an unequivocal green light is now beginning to feel more like waffling by the Biden administration which said that they, too, were revolted by all that has taken place and completely support our right to fully defend ourselves by any and all means.
The problem with asking Israel to pause its ground incursion is that Hamas has already warned Gazan citizens not to leave their homes even after the IDF blanketed the area with Arabic-language leaflets, warning people to evacuate prior to their anticipated entry into the northern part of the city.
But does it come as any surprise that the same Hamas leaders who decapitated babies and raped women would have no regard for the lives of the people for whom they claim to be fighting? Yes, those same “freedom fighters,” as they are being called by worldwide protesters, have warned these citizens not to move from their homes.
Consequently, the estimated 1.1 million residents, living in the area where a ground incursion is expected to take place, are sitting ducks – doomed by their leaders if they choose to leave or doomed by an impending ground incursion, being used as human shields in the hope that international pressure will cause the IDF to rethink initiating any action with the potential to result in a staggering number of massive casualties.
It's exactly the “Heads I win, tails you lose” type of strategy that cowardly terrorists are known to employ. Rather than waging a fair battle, they give themselves the edge by the shameful and disgraceful use of the very people who are nothing more than disposable objects in their calculated game of how to put an end to the Jewish state.
For those who despise Israel enough to actually side with the brutal tactics of Hamas terrorists, this type of “convenient excuse” to delay any military action on the part of the IDF, which is laser-focused on protecting the homeland, is the ace in the deck which no one is prepared to forfeit.
After all, think of the great public relations campaign that would come from the demise of 1.1 million Gazan citizens. No one will waste any time broadcasting endless images of mothers and children who “weren’t afforded the chance to leave their homes” due to the trigger-happy, bloodthirsty Israeli military.
Sounds cynical, right? But make no mistake, these types of abominable schemes are the weapons of war that are cleverly being employed by savage combatants who have no sentiment for human suffering, even of their own people. Theirs is an ideological mission, fueled by the deluge of hatred that has been deposited into their souls from the moment they were born, in order to raise up an unfeeling army, incapable of empathy or any other heartfelt sentiment which separates humans from mechanized robots.
That is where we are at this point in history. A superpower has fallen into the trap of the enemy’s feigned regard for “innocents” who are poised to become the “real victims” of this one-sided massacre that demands a swift and sure response.
With all due respect, Israel does not need waffling, wavering or backpedaling by those who claim to be her closest friends and allies. Having your back does not mean putting a necessary response indefinitely on hold so that citizens can find a safe haven of protection when everyone knows they will not be allowed to do so.
All of us are loath to think of 1.1 million people, many of whom probably didn’t ask for this war nor support the likes of Hamas, to be the resultant casualties of Israel’s moral right to protect her own citizens, who have been slaughtered in the most barbaric way possible. This is a war in which no one wins but one that must be waged, nonetheless, because it is the battle of light vs. darkness, of humanity vs. inhumanity and of civilization vs. anarchy.
No one must stand in the way of Israel’s ability to fight to the end, in order to eradicate these dark powers whose first stop is to strangle the life out of Israel, the Little Satan, followed by their second destination, America, the Great Satan. Those who fail to understand that trajectory, are missing the big picture of where all this is headed.
If civilized nations do not unite under the banner of moral clarity, at a time when the alternative is aligning with barbarians, then the darkest days of mankind will truly be ahead of us, when we will have essentially missed the glaring warning to either obliterate the real threat to all humanity or to tolerate and facilitate its spread until such time that it obliterates each one of us in the end.
