Israel's ability to attack Iran’s nuclear sites has 'dramatically improved,' says IDF chief
Israel Defense Forces Chief of the General Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi reported that the IDF has eliminated Iran’s capacity to install the Hezbollah terror group in Syria.
Speaking at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, Kochavi said the IDF regularly carries out operations to stop Iranian advances and that it is ready, if called upon, to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“The level of preparedness for an operation in Iran has dramatically improved,” said Kochavi, speaking at the institute. “I will say more than that. The IDF will be ready for the day when an order is given to act against the nuclear program, and it will fulfill the mission that it is given.”
The IDF also stopped Iran’s attempt to place thousands of surface-to-surface rockets in Syria, along with Shiite militia.
Iran warned on state TV that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps missile units would hit targets in Israel “within 7 minutes of an attack,” and then follow up with a second wave of rockets.
The warning threatened to immediately hit the Israeli nuclear facility in Dimona and other targets, and that a follow-up wave of rocket attacks would “raze Tel Aviv.”
