Israeli man attacked after accidentally entering Palestinian village
The man was rescued by locals after his car was set on fire
A 40-year-old Israeli man accidentally entered the Palestinian village of Turmus Aya on Sunday evening.
A group of Palestinian rioters surrounded his car, began throwing rocks and then set the car on fire.
Some local residents of the town came to the man's rescue, hiding him until Israel Defense Forces arrived and safely removed him from the area.
It is unclear why the man entered the village, but reports say he took a wrong turn while driving to visit family.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant tweeted a note of appreciation for the IDF soldiers who rescued the man.
"Full appreciation to the IDF fighters who rescued the civilian who was attacked in the village of Turmus Aya. We will pursue and catch up with the rioters and bring them to justice."
