Israeli president implores the public to abide by health regulations in 'national mission of solidarity' to 'restore the Israeli economy'
Israeli President Isaac Herzog spoke this morning at the Ynet Health Convention.
Herzog employed a more restrained approach when exhorting Israelis to maintain health guidelines and get vaccinated, as opposed to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's harsh speech last week.
"If we all abide by the [health] regulations, there's a chance that the upcoming school year will open as usual, and we can maintain a continuity, both educationally and emotionally. If everyone who can get vaccinated does so and we all follow the regulations, we can make sure our schools and economy remain open." Herzog said.
He continued, "Restoring the Israeli economy to where it was before the crisis is a national mission. It's a mission of solidarity so that everyone – no matter what socio-economic status he belongs to – can return and make an honorable living.
