Two stabbing attacks in Jerusalem today within hours of each other
Two more terror attacks took place today, within hours of each other, in the capital city of Jerusalem.
A man in his 20s sustained light injuries after a terrorist stabbed him near the Temple Mount gate in the first attack.
The second stabbing attack occurred at a checkpoint near the Shuafat refugee camp.
Following the first attack, Israel's security officers quickly shut the doors to both the Temple Mount and the Al Aqsa Mosque in order to search for the suspect.
They discovered the attacker – a 14-year-old resident of East Jerusalem – hiding in the mosque, where he was arrested. Both the Temple Mount entrance and Al Aqsa Mosque were reopened shortly afterwards.
The second victim, age 17, was able to flee the scene and was subsequently treated by medics who took him to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. He is reported to be in good condition.
