MOVIE REVIEW: Mission Impossible 7 most exciting summer blockbuster, nears $500 million in global box office sales
Over the past two months, as Lynn and I have traveled through the U.S., Canada and Mexico, we have seen five of the big, new, summer movies made for grown-ups.

The Sound of Freedom
and Oppenheimer
Indiana Jones was fun and better than I’d expected, given the terrible reviews and my low expectations after the horrible Crystal Skull installment.
Barbie was bizarre, woke and confused in every possible way.
The Sound of Freedom was by far the most moving and most important movie of the summer, and one I’ll post a video review of soon.
Oppenheimer was dark, fascinating, and earned its R rating, but history I found worth revisiting. More on that in another review.
But hands down, the seventh installment of Mission Impossible was the most fun and most exciting movie we saw this summer.
It’s the only one of the five that we’ve seen twice.
Not surprisingly, it’s about to hit a half-billion dollars in global ticket sales.
Domestically in the U.S., the Tom Cruise-led franchise has raked in just over $153 million so far.
Internationally, it’s raked in more than $342 million.
All told, MI-7 has earned $496,135,000.
To be sure, it’s being blown away by Barbie, which has already topped $1 billion in worldwide box office sales, even though the politically correct pink picture was released several weeks after MI-7.
Still, Mission Impossible is the far more entertaining flick and one of the most fun of the entire series.
