Palestinian daycare workers celebrate Jerusalem terror attack
Two Palestinian daycare workers from the city of Herzliya, north of Tel Aviv, will be fired for celebrating Friday’s Jerusalem terror attack, in which an Arab resident of Abu Tor, Jerusalem, took the lives of seven people and wounded three others.
The workers’ Arabic language social media posts displayed a Palestinian flag which read, “our homeland” and “Good evening to all the good people, Allahu Akbar” – a phrase meaning “God is great” in Arabic, which is often audibly declared preceding a terror attack.
Photographs distributed by at least one of the workers on WhatsApp showed Palestinian areas depicting the many celebrations which took place following the attack.
The Herzliya municipality responded swiftly to the workers’ reactions by stating they would be fired immediately. The daycare manager also reacted strongly, promising that they would never again enter a classroom.
