Rising terror: 20-year-old Border Police officer dies after Jerusalem terror attack
Israeli security forces reportedly eliminate terrorists in Tulkarm, West Bank
The Israeli police announced on Monday evening that 20-year-old Border Police officer, Ross Elisheva Rose Ida Lubin, passed away from her wounds, after she and another Israeli Border Police officer were stabbed in a terror attack in Jerusalem in the morning.
The stabbing attack took place at the Herod’s Gate in Jerusalem's Old City near the Shalem police station.
Lubin and two other Border Police officers were carrying out an operation near the station, when the terrorist, a 16-year-old minor from East Jerusalem, fatally stabbed Lubin.
Another officer was also stabbed and lightly injured, while the third officer shot and neutralized the terrorist. After long efforts to save Lubin’s life, the doctors were forced to declare her death.
Lubin was a lone soldier from the United States who immigrated in August 2021 to serve Israel.
She was a resident of Kibbutz Sa’ad near the Gaza Strip, one of the communities that was hardest hit by Hamas terrorists during their brutal attack on Oct. 7.
In March 2022, Lubin enlisted for mandatory service with the Israel Defense Forces and upon completing her training to become a female fighter, was assigned to the Old City Battalion of the Jerusalem Border Police.
With her death, the number of police officers that fell in the line of duty during the war has now risen to 59.
