Terror suspect from Huwara shooting captured as IDF operates against Hamas in West Bank
5 terrorists killed, 10 injured during heavy fighting in Jenin
Israeli security forces operated overnight in Judea and Samaria, arresting several wanted terror suspects, and locating and destroying several weapons caches.
While operating in the Jenin refugee camp, engineers from Israel's security forces uncovered multiple IEDs buried under and on the sides of the road.
As defense forces moved to arrest several wanted suspects, they encountered armed resistance from terror squads.
An IDF drone struck a terror squad attempting to join the fight, injuring at least 10 people in the airstrike and during the confrontation, according to reports.
Five Palestinians were killed in the firefight with Israeli forces, according to Palestinian reports, with no reported injuries to Israeli forces.
During extensive searches in Jenin, Israeli Defense Forces located Hamas member Osama Issa Muhammad Bani Fadl, suspected of the Aug. 19 murder of Shay Silas Nigreker and his son Aviad Nir.
The 60-year-old father and his 29-year-old son were murdered at a car wash in the Palestinian settlement of Huwara, which they often visited.
According to reports, an informant overheard the two speaking Hebrew and ran to tell Fadl, who approached the two from behind, shot them and ran away.
IDF and Shin Bet security forces have been looking for Fadl ever since the attack.
Fadl was found with an M-16 rifle, ammunition cartridges and Hamas flags.
Security forces also located an explosive laboratory, which was destroyed.
As IDF troops were leaving the refugee camp, a vehicle with 3 suspects fleeing the firefight was spotted, followed by the suspects being arrested and taken into custody.
Security forces arrested 21 wanted suspects in Jenin, while across the Palestinian Territories of Judea and Samaria, internationally known as the West Bank, another eight wanted suspects were arrested and three Palestinians were reported killed in the clashes.
Since the beginning of Operation Iron Swords, Israel has arrested slightly more than 2,000 wanted suspects, with over 1,100 belonging to the Hamas terror organization in Gaza.
