Tonight on THE ROSENBERG REPORT, I review the new film JESUS REVOLUTION, and explore the #AsburyRevival
Plus, TBN will broadcast live tonight from the campus of Asbury University at 8 p.m. EST– don’t miss it
JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – With the eyes of millions of Christians increasingly focused on what God is doing in Wilmore, Kentucky, the world’s most watched Christian TV network will air an important double-header tonight.
At 8 p.m. EST, the Trinity Broadcasting Network – TBN – will broadcast the student worship service live from the campus of Asbury University, where a dramatic and exciting spiritual revival is underway.
Today marks 16 days since the revival broke out, and it’s been going non-stop, 24 hours a day, since then.
Immediately following the “Live From Asbury” special, THE ROSENBERG REPORT will air.
My show will examine what God is up to in that little town of Wilmore.
I’ll also give viewers a very special sneak preview of a major new motion picture releasing this weekend. It tells the dramatic, emotional and powerful story of the last time the Lord poured out His Holy Spirit on the American people, both reviving the Church, as well as drawing tens of millions of Americans into born again faith in Jesus Christ.
JESUS REVOLUTION is based on a memoir by the same name written by Greg Laurie.
In the early 1970s, Greg was a teenager – lost, confused, experimenting with drugs and drawn the life of the counterculture hippies.
He was falling in love with Cathe, the girl he would later marry.
The movie also tells the story of Chuck Smith, a straightlaced pastor and Bible teacher whose church was dying and was seriously considering leaving the ministry.
And the story of Lonnie Frisbee, a hippie street preacher who loved Jesus and was passionate about preaching the Gospel.
Through the unlikely friendship and unique ministry of Smith and Frisbee, Greg and Cathe got radically saved.
And Greg went on to become the pastor of one of the largest and most influential Evangelical congregations in the United States.
And one of the most effective evangelists of our era.
Lynn and I saw a sneak preview of JESUS REVOLUTION a few weeks ago, when Greg sent us an encrypted link.
We were blown away.
We knew the story was powerful, because both Lynn and I got saved ourselves during the “Jesus Revolution” of the early 1970s.
But we didn’t expect the movie to be so good.
It is.
Tonight, on THE ROSENBERG REPORT, I’ll show clips from the film, and interviews with the extraordinary cast.
And I’ll consider the question burning on my heart these last few weeks: Might God be on the cusp of unleashing another Great Awakening?
Tune in tonight and let’s consider the question together.
