NO BIDEN BLOWOUT — FINAL RESULTS REMAIN ELUSIVE
Votes still being counted, but the only lear outcome is that major polls were disastrously wrong.
JERUSALEM — Projections of a Joe Biden blowout, based on most major mainstream media polls, were disastrously wrong. And President Donald Trump has won critically important states while Republicans have held off a "blue wave."
But we are still waiting on about six states for the election to be called and the presidential race is still anyone's game.
"The media is aiding and abetting Biden, trying to stop the call for Trump,” a GOP campaign insider told ALL ISRAEL NEWS. “We will win North Carolina and Georgia, or we have won them [already]. Same for Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan — they look good, too.”
The much expected blue wave did not happen.
So far, Politico is reporting that Democrats have flipped two Senate seats, while Republicans have won one seat back they had previously lost. Democrats, they report, would need a net gain of 3 or 4 seats to regain control of the Senate.
“Democrats have kept the House — but are unlikely to expand their majority, despite predictions of another blue wave,” Politico reports.
“Tuesday was an abject disaster for Democrats in Washington,” concluded the Politico ‘Playbook’ analysis. “To imagine the amount of soul searching and explaining the party will have to do after Tuesday is absolutely dizzying. The infighting will be bloody — as it should be. We fielded text after text from Hill Democrats Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning with existential questions about their leadership and the direction of their party.”
“Democrats and Republicans told us that Dems would win a dozen seats in the House, and knock off a whole host of Republican incumbents, and that was completely wrong,” Politico added.
USA Today reported that while Democrats will likely retain control of the House of Representatives, "optimistic projections that they would be expanding their already robust margin are falling short.”
“Instead, Republicans have enjoyed some bragging rights, unseating freshmen incumbents in South Florida, New Mexico, Oklahoma and South Carolina, while successfully defending what looked to be several vulnerable seats in Texas and elsewhere," USA Today said. "And early Wednesday, the GOP claimed its biggest prize by knocking off 15-term Democratic Rep. Collin Peterson of Minnesota.”
The Real Clear Politics news site reports that the current popular vote total is:
- Biden – 50.1 percent
- Trump – 48.3 percent
“In Arizona, a final batch of mail-in ballots is still being counted, with the latest arriving ballots counted last," a senior Trump campaign advisor told ALL ISRAEL NEWS. "We believe that over a half a million votes remain to be counted. We expect to win between 2/3 and 70 percent of these ballots. We expect to win Arizona by 30,000 votes.“
“Last night alone, we won 62 percent of the 80,000 Election Day votes that came into Maricopa County — we expect this margin to be higher in the rest of the state.”
Declaring Victory
Biden addressed his supporters after midnight in Delaware.“Keep the faith — we’re going to win this,” Biden said. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.” He predicted he will win Pennsylvania. “Count every vote.”
Trump spoke two hours later and claimed victory, stating that he is well ahead in the current vote counts in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Michigan. He expressed frustration that television networks were refusing to call those states for him, and he made it clear he believes the Biden team is preparing legal challenges to prevent a Trump victory. The President accused his opponents of trying to steal the election and vowed to go the Supreme Court if necessary to “protect the integrity of the vote.”
"This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment for the American public. We were getting ready to win his election. Frankly we did win this election," Trump said.
Vice President Mike Pence, keeping his comments more positive, said he and Trump “are on the road to victory.”
A candidate needs to reach 270 electoral votes to win. The vote count ground to a halt from the early hours in the U.S. freezing at 238 for Biden and 213 for Trump until afternoon in the United States.
Former Vice President Joe Biden has won several significant, “must-win” states:
- Minnesota
- New Hampshire
- New Mexico
- Ohio
- Florida
- Texas
- Michigan – with 54 percent vote counted, Trump was leading by 300,000 votes, but Michigan officials say they will not announce results until noon.
- Georgia — with 100 percent of the votes counted, Trump is ahead with 50.5 percent to Biden with 48.3 percent. Still, the state has not yet been called for Trump.
- Pennsylvania — with 80 percent of the votes counted, Trump is ahead with 54 percent to Biden with 44.9 percent. The state has not yet been called.
- North Carolina — with 100 percent of the votes counted, Trump is ahead with 50.1 percent to Biden with 48.7 percent. Still, the state has not yet been called for Trump.
- Nevada — with 75 percent of the votes counted, Biden is ahead with 49.2 percent to Trump with 48.6 percent. The state has not yet been called for Biden.
- Wisconsin — with 100 percent of the votes counted, Biden is ahead with 49.6 percent to Biden with 48.9 percent.
