WATCH: Joe Biden is about action, not words - he has Israel’s back, fmr. Ambassador Nides says
The latest ROSENBERG REPORT examines US support for Israel
“You don’t have to be a Jew to be a Zionist.”
These were among the first words spoken by U.S. President Joe Biden when he arrived in Tel Aviv last July, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides said in an interview with ALL ISRAEL NEWS' Editor-in-Chief Joel Rosenberg on the latest THE ROSENBERG REPORT on TBN.
This remarkable sentence was part of Nides’ explanation for Biden’s decision to become the first American President to visit Israel during an ongoing war.
The latest edition of THE ROSENBERG REPORT focused on Biden’s historic visit to Israel and examined U.S. support for Israel from different angles, as Israel is still reeling from the surprise attack by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, which killed over 1,400 people and began the current war.
In addition to Israel’s former Ambassador to the U.S. Danny Ayalon and former Knesset Member Ruth Wasserman-Lande, Rosenberg interviewed Nides to gain more insight into the current U.S. policy regarding Israel.
“Few know President Biden and his heart and thinking on Israel better than Tom Nides,” Rosenberg said.
Nides, who has been close to Biden for years, argued that Biden’s support for Israel is genuine and a reflection of deeply held beliefs.
“Joe Biden is a Christian who cares deeply about the State of Israel, cares deeply about the Jewish people… this [support] is all him, this is who he is,” Nides stressed.
The former Ambassador described recent strains in Israel-U.S. relations, such as the fact that Netanyahu was slated to visit the White House only toward the end of the year, as “theatrics.”
“Biden’s about action,” Nides emphasized, mentioning the decision to transfer two U.S. carrier strike groups to the region to deter Hezbollah and Iran, as well as Biden’s decision to come to Israel despite the reports about the alleged bombing of a hospital by Israel, as proofs of Biden’s genuine support of the Jewish State.
“This is not about Prime Minister Netanyahu. This is about the Israeli people… [they] should understand: He has got their back.”
