IDF, Shin Bet and Border Patrol forces arrest 38 wanted suspects in overnight operations in Judea & Samaria
The IDF, Israeli Shin Bet security and Border Patrol forces operating throughout Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley arrested 38 wanted persons overnight.
Two brigade-level operations were simultaneously completed in terrorist strongholds within the Jenin refugee camp and the Balata refugee camp in Nablus.
Over 10 weapons were confiscated and about 20 wanted suspects were arrested.
The forces also located a number of warehouses containing improvised explosive devices (IEDs), a laboratory for the production of explosives and four observation posts.
Engineering forces uncovered IEDs under and on the sides of the roads, while soldiers searching for weapons and suspects engaged in firefights against terrorists who shot or threw explosives. IDF soldiers neutralized several terrorists. There were no reported IDF injuries.
During the Jenin refugee camp operation, Israeli security forces located and destroyed a warehouse with IEDs that was adjacent to a mosque. The forces also arrested 16 wanted persons and confiscated weapons, including two M16-type weapons, a sniper weapon, a handgun, ammunition and military equipment.
Since the beginning of the war, about 1,800 wanted persons have been arrested throughout Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley, about 1,100 of them associated with Hamas.
