Syria says Israel strikes Iranian arms shipment near Damascus
Syrian opposition-affiliated news site Shaam reported an Israeli airstrike against Iranian and regime sites near Damascus after several explosions were heard in the city early Sunday morning.
According to the opposition sources, the airstrikes targeted a transfer of Iranian weapons at Al Dimas, west of Damascus.
Official Syrian state news media did not report on the airstrike.
The Israeli Air Force also did not comment on the strike.
Israel regularly strikes Iranian targets in Syria to prevent the transfer of arms to terror groups and encroachment near the Israeli border.
