Citizens representing nationalities from around the world among victims of Hamas massacre, abductions

The heinous massacre by the Hamas terrorist organization on Saturday has claimed the lives of nationals from at least 16 different countries. In addition, several foreign nationals have been taken hostage or are missing.

 At least 11 American citizens were killed during the attacks, but an unknown number of U.S. citizens are still missing. It is currently unknown how many American citizens are being held hostage in the Gaza Strip by Hamas.

“While we are still working to confirm, we believe it is likely that American citizens may be among those being held by Hamas,” said U.S. President Joe Biden in a statement Monday. “I have directed my team to work with their Israeli counterparts on every aspect of the hostage crisis.”

More than 10 British citizens are currently unaccounted for, with one British citizen, Nathanel Young, reported killed on the Gaza border. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that he stands in solidarity with Israel and that Hamas are terrorists.

“They are not militants. They are not freedom fighters. They are terrorists,” Sunak stated.

Officials in France reported on Monday evening that 14 French citizens are missing following the attack by Hamas.

“We are continuing our efforts to clarify the situations of those of our nationals who remain unaccounted for,” the French Foreign Ministry stated.

According to the German Foreign Ministry, several Israeli-German dual nationals had been taken hostage by Hamas, including Shani Louk, who attended a music festival in southern Israel near Kibbutz Re’im, where more than 250 young people were brutally murdered.

One Irish-Israeli dual citizen was confirmed missing, according to the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs. In addition, two women of Ukrainian background who had long been living in Israel were murdered, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Foreign Ministry of Thailand Spokesperson Kanchana Patarachoke, reported that 12 Thai nationals were killed, while 11 had been taken hostage and eight hospitalized.

At least 10 citizens of Nepal were killed in the Hamas terror attacks and one, with at least one individual still missing. All the victims were all agriculturral students working on Kibbutz Alumim, on the border with Gaza, according to Nepal’s Ambassador Kanta Rizal said.

In addition, two Mexican citizens were reportedly abducted by Hamas, one Cambodian student was killed, three Israeli-Brazilian dual citizens, who had been attending the musical festival, were missing and two Paraguayans and one Panamanian citizen were missing as well. Four Argentinians were killed, in addition to another four that were still unaccounted for.

At least one Canadian citizen, Alex Look, was killed according to his parents who were on the phone with him when Hamas terrorists began shooting at the participants at the music festival in southern Israel.

They said Look died while protecting at least 30 others with his body, which has not yet been identified. Two Canadians are still reported missing.

Russia’s official news agency Tass reported that at least nine Russians are still missing and one Russian-Israeli was killed.
