CNN shares video shedding light on Hamas’ barbaric ISIS-like tactics on Oct. 7
Recently published footage shows similar tactics between the two terror groups
A video shared with CNN by “an Israeli source” shows a Hamas terrorist filmed by security cameras near Kibbutz Nir Oz on Oct. 7.
The terrorist is seen wielding a large knife and moving between the bodies of dead Israeli civilians strewn about on the street.
The man then kneels next to the bodies and proceeds to cut the heads off by sawing through the victims' necks.
This clear evidence of beheadings is “cementing an Israeli view that Hamas is now akin to Jihadi groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS,” said Matthew Chance, a CNN reporter.
“ISIS… also used beheadings, torture, and sexual violence against their captives,” Chance said, adding, “While the two groups use similar brutal tactics, their goals remain different.”
Peter Neumann, a professor of War Studies at King’s College London, told Chance that while Hamas and ISIS are both Islamist groups, there are some important differences in their ideologies.
While the main goal of ISIS is the creation of a worldwide caliphate, Hamas considers Israel its principal enemy and therefore does not recruit foreign fighters like ISIS does.
“Ideologically [Hamas] is not becoming more like ISIS, but tactically and strategically it is,” Neumann said.
More evidence of Hamas’ barbaric atrocities came to light on Wednesday on local Channel 14 news, during an interview with David Tahar, the father of an IDF soldier who was killed during the initial Oct. 7 attack.
Tahar said his son Adir (19) was killed while fighting with Hamas terrorists, who then cut off his head and later attempted to sell it online for $10,000.
“By a miracle” the head was later found by IDF soldiers inside the Gaza Strip and returned to the family for burial, Tahar said.
The revelation came after two captured terrorists were interrogated by the Shin Bet security service and admitted to having attempted to sell Adir Tahar’s head.
A tank-supported raid, led by an elite IDF unit, later found and retrieved it in central Gaza.
