Gaza war will continue with high intensity for next two months, according to Israeli assessment
Political sources: Israel will at that time allow some residents of Gaza Strip to return to their homes
Highly intense fighting will continue in Gaza for up to two more months, according to Israeli officials.
According to the sources published on Sunday morning on Reshet Bet radio, there will be no ceasefire at the end of these two months, but rather targeted activities by forces that will remain in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli officials also estimate that there will be attempts to advance additional hostage release deals during these two months.
Political sources added that, at some point during the next two months, Israel will allow some of the residents of the Gaza Strip to return to their homes, which is a demand of America from Israel, as well as an operational need.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told U.S. President Joe Biden that Israel estimates the fighting in Khan Younis in southern Gaza will last another month.
Netanyahu expressed this assessment to Biden during their conversation last Friday. Biden gave a deadline of one month to end fighting in the southern Gaza Strip, while Netanyahu estimated that it would take a few more months.
