Northern border sees increased activity ahead of Hezbollah retaliation for killing its commander
A Hezbollah drone attack near Mazra'a, a village close to Nahariya in northern Israel, left one person critically injured and another lightly wounded by shrapnel on Tuesday.
An additional impact was identified in the area, with no casualties reported.
Magen David Adom EMS Dir.-Gen. Eli Bin told Israel's Channel 12 News: "There are two injuries, one of them critically wounded and he is being evacuated to Nahariya Hospital. Another injured person is defined as light. It is two [different] scenes, at another scene there are no reports of casualties. MDA teams are at both scenes conducting searches.”
MDA medics said they found a man unconscious in his car with a head injury caused by shrapnel.
“We saw the man sitting in a car, unconscious and suffering a severe head injury from shrapnel,” the medics said according to an MDA statement. “Another wounded woman was near the parking lot, fully conscious and suffering shrapnel wounds in her limbs.”
The Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon claimed responsibility for the drone attack, stating that it was targeting a military base. The terror group said the attack was a response to the Israel's killing of the commander of the Radwan force on Monday.

Hezbollah said it launched a swarm of attack drones, with one telling Reuters the drone attack was not the group’s retaliation for Israel’s elimination of Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut last week.

The attacks came following an Israeli Air Force strike on a military building used by Hezbollah's Southern Front Unit in the Nabatieh area in southern Lebanon earlier on Tuesday. According to Arab reports, four people were killed in that strike.
The Saudi Kingdom's Al-Hadath TV also reported that a senior Hezbollah military commander was killed in the attack in southern Lebanon.
The IDF confirmed striking two locations in southern Lebanon earlier Tuesday.
