Israeli Air Force pilot removed from position due to protest role
An Israeli Air Force pilot who led the reserve pilots protest against the government’s judicial reforms was removed from his position.
Air Force Commander Tomer Bar said the decision was not made because the pilot protested, but because he convinced other pilots to refuse to serve.
An Israel Defense Forces spokesperson said the pilot was removed “because he had acted contrary to the instructions of the commander of the force, in a manner inappropriate to the rank and status of the officer."
The IDF clarified that the pilot will be able to appeal to the chief of staff before a final decision is made.
