LISTEN: Resilience amid crisis - A nation’s unyielding spirit
Gidon Ariel, founder of Root Source, appeals to the international community to stand with Israel in all ways, including in prayer
Christian journalist Paul Calvert interviews Gidon Ariel, founder of Root Source, about the ongoing crisis stemming from Israeli hostages still being held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
Beyond the immediate tragedy, Ariel paints a broader picture of Israel’s resilience, unwavering leadership, and the necessity of a united response during one of its most challenging periods.
“This is just quite simply, the biggest humanitarian horror in recorded history,” Ariel states, describing the desperate situation of hostages who have endured harrowing conditions for over 450 days.
Yet, amidst the grief, Ariel gestures to the strength of Israel’s people.
He states, “My heart explodes with pride for people like that,” reflecting on the courage of young soldiers and even elderly reservists who have stepped forward to protect their homeland, retrieve hostages, and eliminate threats around the nation.
Ariel, a member of Likud’s Central Committee, commends Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership, acknowledging the immense pressures and challenges he faces.
“He is fighting a war on seven or eight fronts with both hands tied behind his back,” Ariel remarks, praising Netanyahu’s ability to balance wartime strategy with political challenges. “He is going to finish the war, get all the hostages back, and totally obliterate Hamas.”
The interview also touches on the spiritual and global aspects of the conflict. Ariel appeals to the international community to stand with Israel in all ways, including in prayer, stating, “The people of Israel are the people of God, and God wants to see who is standing on His side today.”
Ariel’s statements are not only a powerful testament to Israel’s resilience, but also an urgent plea for global unity bound by faith, justice, and peace, as well as awareness against the shared threat of worldwide terrorism and anti-Semitism.
