MIRACLE: Israeli man pretends to be Muslim and saves Israeli Jewish girl from 6 Hamas terrorists during Oct. 7 attack
Rami Davidian doesn’t see himself as a hero but as a humble tool in God’s hands
When Hamas terrorists turned Israel’s Gaza border area into a living hell on Oct. 7, countless ordinary Israelis acted heroically to save as many people as possible.
Rami Davidian doesn’t see himself as a hero but as a humble tool in God’s hands.
“I don’t see it as heroism,” he told Israel's Kan news. “I see it as a mission from God who touched me… and watched over me.”
Davidian lives near Kibbutz Re’im, where a rave festival with thousands of attendants was overrun by Hamas terrorists who invaded Israel's southern border communities that morning.
When a friend called Davidian if he could help rescue another friend’s son from there, he didn’t hesitate and raced in his car to find him.
Davidian soon became a one-man rescue operation, driving back and forth multiple times during the chaos to rescue young Israelis and bringing them to his home, where they were then picked up by family and friends.
At one point, after hours of rescuing Israelis, Davidian got a call from a girl named Amit, who begged him to come and pick her up.
But when he arrived at the location she had described, a group of six terrorists had already captured her.
“I don’t know from where it came, the hand of God touched me… I started talking to them in Arabic,” Davidian said.
He continued to make small talk with the heavily-armed gunmen, asking about their families, before telling them that he was, himself, an Israeli Muslim, Abu Rami from Rahat.
He told the terrorists, who were amazed, that he was on the run and the IDF was after him and advised them to escape.
Incredibly, he managed to convince them to flee in the direction they came from and to leave Amit with him.
“Then I took Amit, we got into the car and raced away,” Davidian said. Amit was later picked up at his home by her grateful parents.
Davidian rescued almost 20 young Israelis on that day, which is referred to as the 'Black Shabbat' of October 7.
