Smotrich rules out concessions to Palestinians as part of Saudi peace deal
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich ruled out the possibility that the Israeli government would make concessions to the Palestinians as part of a peace deal with Saudi Arabia.
“This is a big interest for all of us and we are ready to give Saudi Arabia a lot – but this has nothing to do with Judea and Samaria. We won’t give any concessions to the Palestinians, that’s a fiction,” Smotrich said in an interview with Army Radio on Monday morning.
The finance minister’s comments came amid reports that the United States is pressuring Israel to make concessions to the Palestinians.
This is meant to satisfy Saudi demands, part of the ongoing talks aimed at a broad U.S.–Saudi security framework, which is rumored to also include a Saudi–Israeli peace deal.
