IDF chief: We are making it harder for Hezbollah, eliminations are important

Two Israelis were wounded in two separate drone strikes on Wednesday and Thursday, as the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah continued its incessant attacks against Israel by launching numerous waves of drones over the past few days.

One Israeli victim was critically wounded and rushed to a hospital in Nahariya after a suicide drone exploded near Kibbutz Kabri on Thursday.

The strike occurred as several drones infiltrated Israeli territory in the Western Galilee region, activating alarm sirens in Betzet, Shlomi, Kabri, Hanita and several other towns in the area.

The IDF said it intercepted several drones during the attack but at least one managed to evade the defenses and exploded on the ground. The army also said it shot down several drones in an earlier attack in the Upper Galilee.

In the afternoon, the army said it thwarted another attack of several drones that were shot down before crossing into Israel.

Hezbollah later claimed it launched the attack at Kibbutz Kabri “in response to the Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon.”

Overnight, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) attacked Hezbollah targets in five different areas simultaneously, the IDF stated, after an Israeli soldier was lightly wounded in a Hezbollah attack.

An aircraft carrying a launcher that was used to attack Shtula earlier on Wednesday was struck in the Ayta al-Sha’ab region, while other strikes targeted military sites in Rab al-Thalathine, al-Adaisa, and al-Khiam.

The IDF also struck an observation post in the area of Ramiyah, while artillery forces shelled another area to remove an imminent threat.

On Wednesday evening, a female Israeli soldier was lightly wounded in another attack by three Hezbollah drones near Beit Hamekhes on the Golan Heights. Among other Israeli strikes against Hezbollah, the IDF reported that soldiers directed an airstrike after spotting a terrorist who entered a building in Tir Harfa.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi toured the northern border on Wednesday, meeting army commanders, as well as the mayor of Metula, who recently stated that almost half of the family homes in his town had been damaged by attacks.

“When your enemy is having a difficult time, don’t turn away but make it harder for him. We are making it harder.”

“We are making it harder on them by dismantling more, and increasing the chances of arriving at good terms, to return the hostages, this is a very, very significant matter.”

“Look, I think the eliminations are very important. I think they are very difficult for them,” Halevi said, praising the IDF units involved in the targeted strikes that so far have killed three division-level and 12 brigade-level commanders of Hezbollah.
