Ben Gvir threatens to leave government over ceasefire agreements
Israel's controversial Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, said on Tuesday evening that putting a stop to the war against Hamas means dissolving the government.
"Stopping the war = dismantling the government,” Ben Gvir wrote on X.
His statement came amid reports of Israeli discourse with Qatari representatives on extending the pause in fighting in exchange for the release of more hostages each day.
One of the offers reportedly being proposed by Hamas is the release of all captives in exchange for a full ceasefire.
The Jewish Power party claimed that if another deal to stop the war is brought to the government, allegedly including an extension of the temporary ceasefire agreement, all six Knesset members from the Jewish Power party would leave the coalition.
