WATCH: US determined 'Hamas will be defeated in the way that the Nazis were defeated in 1945,' fmr. Israeli Ambassador Ayalon says
The ROSENBERG REPORT examines why the Israel-US relationship is so critical to both countries at this time
“The world today is divided between the Axis of Evil…the global jihadists supported by Iran…[and] the United States and its allies, the Free World. The line is here in Gaza.”
That is how Danny Ayalon – former Israeli deputy foreign minister and former Israeli ambassador to the U.S. – described the global situation while talking to ALL ISRAEL NEWS Editor-in-Chief Joel Rosenberg on the latest edition of THE ROSENBERG REPORT on TBN.
The show's recent episode focused on U.S. President Joe Biden’s historic visit to Israel during wartime and U.S. support for Israel, as well as Israel’s struggle to wage a media war over its response to the surprise attack by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, which killed over 1,400 Israelis and foreign citizens.
Rosenberg held interviews with Ayalon, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides, and former Knesset Member Ruth Wasserman-Lande, current advisor to Benny Gantz, Israel's former IDF chief and current leader of Israel's National Unity party.
“Few understand U.S.-Israel relations better than Danny Ayalon,” Rosenberg began, introducing the former Israeli ambassador.
Rosenberg recounted Ayalon’s experience as Israel’s ambassador during the difficult years of 2002-2006, during the time of the Second Intifada and Ariel Sharon’s decision to invade Gaza, only to then completely withdraw, handing the Gaza Strip over to the Palestinians.
After that time, Ayalon became deputy foreign minister under Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“How would you assess U.S.-Israeli relations at the moment?” Rosenberg asked Ayalon, recounting Biden’s failure to invite Netanyahu to the White House.
“It’s much bigger than any personal relationship or individual,” Ayalon said. “It’s about the safety of the world, and the future of the United States, and our allies.”
Ayalon described how the Israel-U.S. relationship is akin to the relationship between the US and its allies in World War II.
“The world today is divided between the Axis of Evil, which is, of course, the global jihadists and the global jihad supported by Iran, and Iran which is supported by China and Russia, and on the other hand, we have the United States and its ally, the Free World, the democracies,” Ayalon explained.
“So, the line here is in Gaza. This is why there is a lot at stake, and the United States is determined that Hamas will be defeated in the way that the Nazis were defeated in 1945,” Ayalon stated.
